Celebrate a Birthday with UGA. Put on your party hats — The University of Georgia is turning 225! In celebration, the Georgia Museum of Art is hosting an exhibition beginning March 19 that displays visual art reflecting the history of UGA and its current status. Featured works will reflect the purpose of the anniversary, to honor the past and the present while looking forward to the future. Wear Green. Grab a pint of Guinness and dance to bagpipe music at Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub for their second annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Olde Blind Dog, a unique, authentic Irish pub in Milton, celebrated their first St. Patrick’s Day after opening last February. All day long there will be live music from three different bands and bagpipers, beer trucks keeping the Guinness flowing and cooks serving up delicious Irish fare under tents outside, so the party is on — rain or shine! For more information and to read The Dog’s Tale, visit www.oldeblinddog.com.

Make it a Date. Liven up your typical night of takeout and a movie-on-demand with dinner at a popular restaurant and a spectacular show! Several area restaurants have teamed up with The Fox Theatre to offer you a great deal for a night out. For example, for one package price, you can enjoy a three-course dinner at the elegant, European-influenced Ecco and then stroll on over to the Fox Theatre for “Spring Awakening” on March 10. Or if a flirtier setting is more your style, dine at Shout before the show on March 14. For a full schedule and to purchase tickets, visit www.foxtheatre.org/dinner_broadway.
