Say goodbye. You could opt to see one of many versions of “The Nutcracker” again or you can settle in to watch one of the last performances of “The 1940s Radio Hour.” The musical, which opened on Thanksgiving in 1982 and has been a tradition ever since, is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a 1942 radio broadcast complete with sound effects recorded for troops overseas during Christmas. Suitable for all ages, the performance runs through Jan. 7 at the Theatre in the Square’s Alley Stage. See it before it’s gone for good. For more information, call the box office at 770-422-8369 or visit www.theatreinthesquare.com.

Buy the book. There’s a Christmas list and then there’s the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. One peek at these pages and those visions of sugarplums will quickly be replaced with diamonds, furs and … a backyard water park? Try as you might, you’d never be able to come up with a wish list quite like theirs. Imagine flipping through the pages of a catalog touting a six-person space trip charter for $1.7 million or an exclusive villa at one of Tuscany’s oldest working wineries for a mere $3.5 million. This year’s Christmas Book, the company’s 80th, continues its tradition of offering everything from fancy items like a MontBlanc diamond fountain pen ($160,900) to affordable gifts such as the Versace candy dish ($98) and a tin of delicious holiday cookies ($20). The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book is $15 and can be ordered by calling 800-634-6267, or peruse the entire book online at www.neimanmarcus.com.
