Savor Titanic’s last meal. It’s fitting that The Oceanaire Seafood Room would partner with the Atlanta Civic Center’s “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition.” Servers in starched white jackets match the décor of this polished Midtown restaurant, which is reminiscent of a 1930s ocean liner. Sail back to that final dinner aboard the maiden voyage of the “unsinkable” ship. Offered nightly through June 3, the final date of the touring collection, five courses, according to Oceanaire, will “capture the romance and exquisite taste of a bygone era of luxury and leisure.” Representative of a first-class menu, the meal begins with Oysters a’ la Russe (shellfish served on the half shell with a vodka relish), followed by a cream of barley soup. Poached salmon with a mousseline sauce (hollandaise sauce with whipped cream) precedes an entrée of filet mignon of Forestiere. Dessert is Waldorf pudding with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream. The cost is $75 per person. For reservations, call 404-475-2277.

Honor a hero. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of conviction, campaigning for justice and peace on behalf of the civil rights movement. In tribute, the Atlanta History Center presents “I Have A Dream: The Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. Collection” now through May 13. The exhibit includes 600 pieces of priceless history such as drafts of his legendary “I Have A Dream” speech, his celebrated “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” sermons from his ministry, and his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech. Together, the audio and visual components really nail home the value of courage and compassion, touching on every aspect of his life from his education to that ill-fated day at a motel in Memphis. Tickets to the History Center on West Paces Ferry Road are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 4 to 12. For more information, visit www.atlantahistorycenter.com and click on temporary exhibitions or call 404-814-4000.

Build a home. Last year, Points North had the privilege of meeting the Murphy
family. Parents John and Jeanette have adopted 23 special needs children, making a home for innocent victims of disease, abuse and despair. Touched by their boundless love and compassion, we in turn hoped to raise enough money through reader contributions to build a home fit for such a large family. The Keenan Kids Foundation is now in the final push to reach their goal, and you can still help. Please visit www.murphyhouseproject.com for more information on how to show your support or call the foundation at 404-223-KIDS.

Pick up Two-Buck Chuck. If you haven’t explored Atlanta’s new Trader Joes grocery stores on the hunt for exotic foods at appetizing prices, perhaps you should fly on over for a culinary tour. While perusing the aisles, none seem to be able to resist a bottle of the beloved retailer’s “Two-Buck Chuck.” This California line of $2.49 Charles Shaw wine (lovingly called Two-Buck Chuck) is a good table wine for a great price. In fact, the Shaw’s 2002 Shiraz received the double gold medal at the 28th Annual International Eastern Wine Competition. So take a sip of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz for about two bucks and see for yourself what all the hullabaloo is about. Store locations include Marietta, Norcross, Roswell and Sandy Springs. For more information, visit www.traderjoes.com.
