Meet a baby panda. It’s been seven months since Zoo Atlanta welcomed a new ball of black-and-white fur, the first baby cub born to resident pandas Lun Lun and Yang Yang. Now that Mei Lan has made her official debut and has moved outside the confines of her nursery, there is no better time to visit the zoo than springtime. Lun Lun and Mei Lan will enjoy mornings outside and Zoo Atlanta is offering giant panda exhibit tour tickets to ensure you get a glimpse of the playful cub as she explores her surroundings. Each limited-availability ticket, an additional $5 with general admission, assigns viewers a 15-minute time slot so you can be sure not to miss a thing. Members of the zoo will have a chance to view Mei Lan daily from 9 to 9:30 a.m. without a tour ticket, or purchase another time slot for $2.50. Reservations will be taken online at www.zooatlanta.org.

Watch animals on parade. Help make the Atlanta Humane Society’s 17th annual Pet Parade a howling success. Everyone is invited to A Walk for Animals – especially the family pet – at Atlanta’s Candler Park for the city’s largest walk-a-thon for animals. Thousands of two- and four-legged participants in the mile-long scenic walk are required to pre-register and collect a minimum number of pledges for the April 14th event, with goodie bags and prizes for top fundraisers.
