Sip Cocktails in the Garden. Mix and mingle amidst the fragrant and floral setting of the Atlanta Botanical Garden when warm summer evenings give way to one of Atlanta’s best monthly outdoor events, Cocktails in the Garden. As the sun sets over the Atlanta skyline, the Thursday night events, hosted from 6 to 10 p.m., are the only way to see the Garden at night, with delicious food from area restaurants and a full bar offering wine, beer and cocktails. Monthly themes take the party to different beautiful locations throughout the Garden grounds, including June’s “Crape Myrtles & Cape Cods” hosted by Concentrics Restaurant. “Bumblebees & Bellinis” in July, August’s “Hostas & Hurricanes” and September’s season-ending “Succulents & Sangrias” round out the fun. Visit www.atlantabotanicalgarden.org for more information.

Enjoy the Coolest Venue in Atlanta. Nothing is better than escaping the scorching summer heat in the air-conditioned bliss of a movie theater. Well, there is one thing that’s better: catching classic films under an Arabian star-filled sky in the fabulous and historical Fox Theatre. The 2007 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival returns to bring an eclectic mix of characters, including Spartans, mobsters, fantastical creatures, a trio of dreamers, an animated family, polyester-clad dancers, a secret agent, a scarecrow, a lion, a tin man, a girl named Dorothy and a few more of your favorite characters to the big screen. Go early and enjoy pre-show wine tastings and a traditional sing-a-long accompanied by the theater’s “Mighty Mo” organ. Find movies and showtimes by visiting www.foxtheatre.org, or purchase tickets online at www.ticketmaster.com.

Swap your jeans. Not that you need an excuse to go shopping, but if you just happen to be in the market for a new pair of jeans and you are feeling charitable, by all means, grab a pair of your gently worn jeans and head straight to Sandpiper for their summer Denim Swap. The swapping starts Thursday, June 21 and goes through Saturday, June 23. For each pair of jeans donated, you’ll get 10 percent off a brand new pair of must-have Citizens, Seven, True Religion, Habitual, or Paige. Thirty percent off is the limit. All of the gently worn denim items will be donated to My Sister's House, a home for women and children in transition. For more information, visit either Sandpiper location (in Vinings at 4300 Paces Ferry Road, 770-433-2989; in Sandy Springs at 227 Sandy Springs Place, 404-255-7878) or visit www.shopsandpiper.com.
